Description of Service
Canvas is APU's official learning management system (LMS). All face-to-face, blended, and online courses reside on Canvas. All online and some blended and face-to-face classes have master templates. Each faculty should check with their department chair to see what is available for class templates.
While each class differs from another, a Canvas course site typically has the following tools and resources:

Every course has a default site template automatically assigned to it. Online courses are automatically populated from the most recent offering of the course. This content is imported into the course site by the Office of Innovative Teaching and Technology (ITT).
Once officially enrolled by the University Registrar Office, faculty and students will be provided access to their courses. It typically takes 1-2 business days for a new student or faculty to appear in Canvas after they've been added to PeopleSoft.
The faculty member of record for a course may add additional faculty or staff members to his or her course
Help for Service
The Office of Innovative Teaching and Technology (ITT) provides training as well as a library of resources, training materials, and frequently asked questions.
All tech support for this service is routed through the IMT Support desk at 626-815-5050 and the ticketing system. Immediate tech support is available 24/7 through the IMT Support Center. Issues requiring higher levels of service will be routed to ITT for resolution during normal 8-5 business hours.
Faculty members are responsible for the content of their site and that their students are able to access the appropriate material. Online faculty should not alter the content of their master course without checking in with ITT.
Students are responsible for monitoring their Canvas course and following their instructor's guidelines.
