Departmental Role Accounts
Departmental Role Accounts are created for general use by departments that give temporary or student employees access to specified systems. Creating Role Accounts simplifies and streamlines the account creation and permission assignment process. Role Accounts are the preferred method for student workers of the department to log in and access network shares.
Note: Departmental Role Account are distinct from PeopleSoft Accounts. For PeopleSoft Accounts, supervisors can submit a request for the permissions needed.

- Students (Must have staff or faculty sponsor)
The staff or faculty member requesting the role account is the owner and is responsible for how the role account is used. The customer is responsible to change the password when a student leaves the position to ensure there are no unauthorized access to the account. While logged in with the Role account, passwords can be changed at the following site: https://den.apu.edu/rolepasswd
